Community Now provides Trauma Informed Care training for organizations, schools and businesses. Participants learn to understand the impact of adverse childhood experiences (ACE's) in their lives and the lives of those they serve. Organizations learn how to identify trauma and how to interact with clients in more positive ways.

Goals:
To increase the general knowledge of trauma-informed Care techniques and resources. Demonstrate how Adverse Childhood Experiences impact our everyday lives. Learn how to apply coping techniques that can improve all aspects of our personal and professional lives. Discuss the role kindness has in our society.

It’s My Destiny, I Choose! 6hr Course
Goals:
This training will increase general knowledge of African American culture, trauma-informed Care, Adverse Childhood Experiences and how this information can be applied to all aspects of your personal and professional lives.
Students are recruited via school site referral.

Definition of trauma
Individual trauma results from an event, series of events, or set of circumstances that is experienced by an individual as physically or emotionally harmful or life threatening and that has lasting adverse effects on the individual’s functioning and mental, physical, social, emotional, or spiritual well-being.
